Are you a Teacher??
Have you ever given some serious consideration to what actually motivates your pupils to produce work above and beyond expectations? Well, let us provide you with a suggestion – how about giving some thought to a student reward rubber stamp!
Without doubt, you have all seen the standard, cheap and mass produced student reward rubber stamps that are made by many companies specifically for schools. These stamps usually have a very restricted choice of image, with a corny comment. For example – an image of a star with the comment underneath saying ‘you are a star’, or an image of a dog with the comment ‘Teacher’s pet’.
These stamps are invariably cheap and cheerful, but do they achieve the purpose for which they are bought? Well, we have repeatedly been told by so many teachers and schools that the general feedback from the pupils who receive an impression from one of these stamps in their exercise books is that the pupils are at best disappointed, and at worst demotivated.
And what is the reason for this demotivation? Well, the pupils are asked by the teacher to produce their best possible work, yet they are rewarded with a shoddy, often faint and/or incomplete image that is actually a perfect example of the poor work that the teacher is trying to avoid receiving from the pupils. Furthermore, the pupils then find out that every Tom, Dick and Harry throughout the school has also received an impression of exactly the same student reward rubber stamp that day. Some motivation, I think not!!
And to rub salt into the wound, when the pupils explain why they are disappointed, the common reaction from the teacher is ‘how ungrateful – I spent my own time and money getting that stamp!’ However, we tend to underestimate the pride these pupils take in their work at times, and perhaps they actually deserve to get appropriate recognition of their quality work, by receiving an impression from a quality customised student reward rubber stamp.
This certainly was the thinking from the teacher who ordered the stamp shown above. The teacher wanted a totally unique, high quality rubber stamp that really encouraged the pupils to produce excellent work. This particular rubber stamp that we are looking at includes the school logo, and is in the colour of the school uniform – blue. Note that for your campbellco stamp, you can choose from 3 colours – black, blue or red, and from one of 11 different sizes. In this case, the teacher chose the 30mm x 30mm stamp to give a significant sized impression.
The teacher was absolutely delighted with her stamp, and even now we still get regular feedback from her, describing how it has become a classroom ceremony for the pupils (the stamp is used only as the highest reward), and the pride that the pupils get from being allowed to use this prestigious rubber stamp.
